Crews

Gathering members
Joining to a crew is a two-stage procedure. First, the player has to click the Join button on your crew's info panel. Then he/she gets listed on your applicant list. If the player has left a crew in the last 72 hours he/she is not allowed to join.
The crew which the player has applied to appears in the crew list tagged (green addition sign).
If the leader of your crew accepts his/her application by clicking „Approve on member list”, the joining player becomes a Greenhorn and receives a system message that the application has been accepted. Now he/she is a member of the crew.
Greenhorn members cannot be promoted to a higher rank in the first 24 hours, the crew leader gets an error message if he tries to do it.
A player can try to join multiple crews but only one crew can accept the application. As soon as the joining process is finished, the applicant's name disappears from other crews’ member list (if there's any).

Leaving the crew
You  can leave a crew  through the crew info panel. If a member quits, the membership ends instantly.
The player who left a crew is not allowed to join another crew for 72 hours.
If the crew membership  is under 4, the crew gets penalty.
If the last member leaves the crew, the crew is automatically deleted.
If a boss leaves his crew, he has to promote someone as a boss. Otherwise the deputy becomes the boss. If there is no deputy the one who joined the earliest becomes the boss.

Crew chat
Once in a crew, you are able to chat in the Crew's chat channel. Crew channel is similar to the Friend channel but has crew members in it instead of friends.

Crew tax
All crew members pay RP tax. This income goes into the crew repository and can be spent in the crew shop.

Tax is automatically deducted every time a crew member wins RP in any race.

The boss can set the tax from 0% to 15%.

When a player wins 1000 RP on a race and the membership fee is 10% the crew gets 100 RP and the player gets 900 RP.

Penalties
When your crew membership is under 4  the crew gets a penalty.
When a crew is under penalty the following functions are not available for the members:

  • repository
  • crew management (except Applicants menu)
  • crew bonuses

Crews under penalty appear in the crew lists tagged (exclamation mark icon).
To get your crew out of the penalty you have to get more members and raise the membership above the minimal 4.

Crew repository
The repository is where the crew can hold valuables: RP, GP and crew items. Crew items can be bought in the Crew Shop.

Crew Shop
The Crew Shop is accessible from the Crew HQ and looks similar to the normal shop. Items bought in Crew shop go to the repository.

Only authorized members can shop here.

Depositing RP,  GP and items
When the crew plans to buy items in the crew shop but doesn't have enough RP or GP, member deposits can help.
Any member can deposit RP and CP.
RP deposits can be made in the crew HQ.
CP deposits are possible by purchasing GP vouchers in the normal shop.

Item deposits are not yet available.

Member count
There is a parking lot in the garage of the crew HQ. Each member has a slot in it. The quantity of those parking slots depends on the quality and size of the crew garage building. The bigger the garage the more slots it has. More slots mean more possible members.

Crew-specific items
You can buy bonus items that have an effect on every crew member.
Current bonus items:

  • 5% RP/XP Bonus (requires a Class 1 HQ)
  • 7.5% RP/XP Bonus (requires a Class 2 HQ)
  • 10% RP/XP Bonus (requires a Class 3 HQ)
  • 12.5% RP/XP Bonus (requires a Class 4 HQ)

Crew items in normal shop
Crew members can buy items for the crew in the normal shop, too. The shop has a crew section in which crew specific items will be listed. When you purchase an item here that item goes to the crew repository.

Pre-sale items
Both normal shop and crew shop has a crew section. There is a Pre-sale filter in it where brand new items can be listed. These items are not available for common players. For example, when a new car is getting into the game crews have the privilege to buy these items before anyone else.

Crew activity log
Every crew activity is logged. Crew members with proper right can view the crew activity log in the crew HQ.

Activities logged:

  • member application
  • joining member
  • leaving member
  • kicking member
  • crew shop purchase

Default ranks:

  • boss
  • deputy
  • fanatic
  • racer
  • greenhorn

Crew ranks can be renamed in the crew management window.

Crews And The Event System

Challenge event for crews
Settings page of Challenge event will have the option to create the event for individual players (default) or for crews. Creating a Challenge event for crews means that crews can compete against each other.

Any crew member who has the right to organize matches can register his/her crew a Challenge event. Once they are registered, they can participate in the event. Depending on the goal, the crew members' achievements are added to the crew's overall achievement. For example, if the goal is to drive the most miles, individual crew members' mileage is added together.

Some goals' achievement cannot be added together:
- Best lap time (will be the best of the crew members' lap times)
- Best average speed (will be the best of the crew members' best avg. speeds)
- Best top speed (will be the best of the crew members' best top speeds)

The progress page shows the list of participating crews and their current achievement.
If a crew is rewarded at the end of the event, every crew member gets the reward.

Crew matches
If two crews come together to compete with each other we call it a 'crew match'. There are two possible ways to create a crew match: ad hoc matches require no administration whatsoever; crew tournaments, however, are more organized racing events for crews.
Let's see them one by one!

Ad hoc crew matches
If your crew decides to play with another crew, first you have to challenge them using the chat or other verbal means. Once your crew and the opponent crew are in the room (and no one else is in the room that is not a member of the two crews), you will see a small icon on the left of the screen that indicates that it is a crew match. It means that the outcome of the match will be reckoned into your crew's total wins and losses statistics (winning rate may also change). The winner and loser team will be displayed on the results screen at the end of the match.
Crew matches can only be played in team modes, therefore all game modes can be played in team mode. (Team CTF is already a team mode.)

Crew Tournaments
Tired of the bum rap saying "we have the best crew on the server"? Now you really have the chance to show your talent. Crew Tournaments are the best place for a crew to beat the heck out of lousy crews.
It's a series of crew match events in an organized manner. Tournaments are usually long-lasting events. This way competing crews have time to challenge each other and play crew matches to decide which the best crew is at the time.

Tournament Ladder
Every Crew Tournament has a ladder which is a list of the participating crews arranged by their points achieved in the tournament.
If your crew can get the most Tournament Points until the end of the tournament your crew is the winner.
You can open the Tournament Ladder any time by clicking 'Show Ladder' button after selecting a tournament in the Tournament List.

Entering a Crew Tournament
If you have 'Event organizer' right in your crew and there is a crew tournament started by the game masters, you can enter the tournament any time.
You have to go to your crew HQ and open the 'Tournament list' to do so. It will list all the tournaments at that moment. Select one and click 'Enter Tournament' button.

Creating a Crew Match event
Creating a crew match event is necessary to challenge an opponent crew. That's how you make an appointment for the big match.
If you are a crew boss (or have right of the Match organizer) you can create Crew Matches using the event calendar. Create a new event and you will find the new event type, Crew Match.
There is another way to challenge a specific crew: open the Tournament Ladder, select a crew you want to challenge and click the 'Challenge Crew' button on the bottom.
After setting all parameters, click the CREATE EVENT button. A notification arrives on the crew channel of the chat if a challenge is created, so every member of your and the opponent crew will know about it.
The boss of the challenged crew has modification right over the Crew Match event. He can modify the event parameters, ACCEPT or REFUSE the challenge. Every time the event parameters are modified by any of the crew bosses, a notice is sent to each crew's channel about the modification and the match has to be accepted again by the other crew.
If you are challenged to a match or you challenge other crews, the Crew Match event will be listed in the Pending Matches window (available in crew HQ). Crew Matches are visible only to the two crews.

Pending Matches
This is a list of challenges in which your crew's future matches are listed. It is available by clicking the Pending Matches button in the HQ or on the Crew Ladders window.
This window is important because the crew boss can (or any authorized crew member) VIEW, MODIFY, ACCEPT or REFUSE scheduled challenges here.

Accepting a challenge
A crew member with match organizer rights has to confirm whether his crew accepts the challenge. The Accept button will be available on the Pending Matches list.
If the crew accepts a challenge, it means they have to be in the game at the set date and participate in the match.
If the event settings are modified by one of the crews, the other crew has to accept the challenge again. (So, a crew cannot swindle by changing event settings.)
If the crew has already accepted a challenge they can cancel it any time by pushing the REFUSE button on the list. But once they have accepted a challenge and they don't show up when the Match starts, they lose the challenge. The opponent crew gets the Tournament Points.
If one of the crews has not accepted the challenge until the start of the match, the event is called off automatically and nobody wins.

Refusing a challenge
The crew boss can refuse the challenge by selecting the challenge in the Pending Matches list and clicking REFUSE button. Refusing a match will not have any effect on the crew's points or statistics.

Modifying a challenge
Both bosses of the battling crews have the right to modify the challenge event by clicking the EDIT button on the Pending Matches list.

Registering
Every crew member who wants to participate has to register to the crew match. If more members register to the event than the set player count, they get on a waiting list.

The sequence of players’ registration counts: The sooner you register the bigger chance you get to play in a crew match.

The 'Team headcount' parameter
If you create a crew match or modify one, take a look at the 'Team headcount' parameter. It is the number of the participating members you guarantee to be present when the event starts.

The match will not start if the number of the participating crew members does not reach the Team headcount set in the match's parameters.

If there are more players present at the start of the event, the additional players will not play in the match.

Playing a crew match
Matches are managed by the server. Once the event is created and accepted by both crews, every registered member has to be in the menu and wait for the start of the match.
All game modes work as team modes in a crew match. Every match contains two competing teams, RED is the challenger crew and BLUE is the challenged one. 'Shuffle' or 'Switch team' functions are not allowed in crew matches.
Crew match events are like Scoring Championships. Each team member in a match gets his points but at the end the system determines the winner crew based on the crew members' average points.
Progress menu in Event Management shows the individual players' scores and the crew average, too.

Tournament Points
The list on the current Crew Ladder is ordered by Tournament Points. Only the winner crew gets Tournament points after a crew match, the loser gets no points.
Tournament point calculation is based on the difference between the challenger and the challenged crew's rank on the ladder plus a fixed amount of points (base points) for the winner (default: 10).
Example:
Crew 1 (rank 50) challenges Crew 2 (rank 10). Rank difference is 40.
If the winner is Crew 1, they get 10 + (+0.4 * 10) = 14 Tournament points.
If the winner is Crew 2, they get 10 + (-0.4 * 10) = 6 Tournament points.
If the match is drawn, the calculation is the same but the base point is 4:
Crew 1 gets 4 + (+0.4 * 4) = 6 Tournament points.
Crew 2 gets 4 + (-0.4 * 4) = 2 Tournament points.
If the two crews are not ranked (fresh starters in the ladder), their rank difference is zero, so the winner takes 10 points.
If one of the crews is unranked but the other is ranked, the unranked crew considered to be the lowest ranked in the ladder.

Silence before Match
Crew-A cannot challenge Crew-B if they had a match in the current tournament in the past 24 hours. If this time elapses, the crew can challenge each other again in the current tournament.
